IRON MAIDEN's 'Bring Your Daughter' Named One Of Best British Number One Singles

According to a posting on the IRON MAIDEN fan site MaidenFans.com, IRON MAIDEN, IRON MAIDEN's 1990 hit single "Bring Your Daughter... To The Slaughter" was voted second best British number one single ever in a BBC Radio 1 poll, beaten only by QUEEN's "Bohemian Rhapsody".

The Top 10 went as follows:

01. QUEEN – "Bohemian Rhapsody"
02. IRON MAIDEN - "Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter"
03. MICHAEL JACKSON - "Billie Jean"
04. MADONNA - "Like a Prayer"
05. MADONNA - "Vogue"
06. ELVIS PRESLEY - "Jailhouse Rock"
07. OASIS - "Don't Look Back in Anger"
08. ABBA - "Dancing Queen"
09. MARIAH CAREY - "Without You"
10. JOHN LENNON - "Imagine"

According to a posting on the BBC Radio 1 web site, there were a total of 26,072 votes recorded, and QUEEN was the most voted for artist overall, but this was mainly due to votes for "Bohemian Rhapsody". Their two other Number 1s ("Innuendo" and "Under Pressure") only received a small amount of votes each.
